05 May 2026 - Last week, Evoralis joined Rethinking Materials as a Featured Start Up, connecting with innovators across materials science, recycling, and circular fashion.

Bringing enzyme-enabled recycling to the main stage

Our CEO, Daniel Kaute, had the opportunity to present Evoralis on the main stage - sharing the challenge we’re tackling and our approach to solving it. Textile waste is rising, yet recycling remains constrained by the reality of feedstocks: blends, treatments, contamination, and semi-crystalline polymers that are difficult to process with conventional mechanical or chemical routes.

Evoralis is building an enzyme engineering platform designed for these real-world conditions. By combining ultra-high throughput screening with enzyme evolution, we aim to develop biocatalysts that selectively break down targeted polymers under mild conditions, supporting high-value recycling pathways and scalable deployment through partnerships.

Conversations that matter

Across the event, we spoke with brands, recyclers, waste management stakeholders, and materials innovators about what it will take to make circular textiles work in practice. A few themes came up repeatedly:

  • Feedstock reality: sorting and consistency are critical to economics

  • Scale requirements: solutions must work with existing infrastructure and industrial constraints

  • Collaboration: progress depends on partnerships across the value chain, not isolated innovation

What’s next

We’re continuing conversations from the event around pilot opportunities, feedstock access, and partnerships to scale enzyme-enabled recycling. If you’re exploring circular materials strategies, especially for blended textile waste streams, we’d love to connect.
